I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
